MANILA -- Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI) has changed its name to Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines, Inc. (CCEAP).

The name change comes after the company was bought by Aboitiz Equity Ventures and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP).

The firm said it got approval from the Securities and Exhange Commission (SEC) to use its new name starting January 15. 

Sabin Aboitiz, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Aboitiz Group, said the new name represents the strength of their partnership with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.

"We share a solid commitment to our customers and communities, and with this new identity, we believe we can make a much more meaningful impact," he said.

For his part, CCEAP president and CEO Gareth McGeown also said the name highlights a new phase in the firm's journey.

"In the 113 years that Coca-Cola has called the Philippines home, we look forward to a hundred more years of refreshing our consumers and making a difference," he said.

CCEAP, the bottling partner and official distributor of Coca-Cola products in the Philippines, operates across 18 manufacturing facilities and almost 70 distribution centers and sales offices nationwide. It has 20 brands in its beverage portfolio and employs around 9,000 Filipinos.
