Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA — The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) warned the public on Wednesday against vote-buying scams ahead of the 2025 midterm polls.CICC Executive Director Alexander Ramos said   scammers may bait Filipinos who are willing to sell their votes.“May magsasabi na, ‘Uy, may kaperahan dito, candidate na ganito.’ Baka mamaya bigay sila nang bigay ng kanilang personal information. Yun pala, iha-hijack yung account nila or yung account nila after ma-hijack, gagamitin as a money mule account,” he said.The CICC also flagged several e-wallet platforms that have popped up recently but are not registered with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).The agency suspects that these will be used for vote-buying.“Nakita nila, kung naco-control na, nasu-surpress na yung registered platforms, e gawa tayong bagong platforms,” said Ramos.“We will seek na maghigpit na rin ang ating regulators on this. The Committee on Kontra Bigay leads our campaign against vote buying in whatever form,” said Comelec Chairman George Garcia.
