An Italy-based guidebook has included a Filipino brand in its list of top artisan pizza chains in the world for 2024. 

Cibo, owned by Asia's Best Female Chef 2016 Margarita Fores, ranks 44th in the list of 50 restaurants by 50 Top Pizza.

"A big grazie to our team and loyal patrons for loving what we do -- bringing you the real modern Italian experience that earned us this honor," it said in a Facebook post, which showed Fores accepting the award.

Known for its pizza, pasta, and casual Italian fare, Cibo celebrated its 27th anniversary earlier this year with P27 deals and limited-edition merchandise. 

It currently has branches in Manila, Cebu, and Bacolod. 

Meanwhile, three other homegrown restaurants have been recognized by 50 Top Pizza. Crosta Pizzeria leads the pack at 12th place in 50 Top Pizza World 2024, and 2nd in the Asia-Pacific list.

A mano, owned by Fores' son Amado, made it to the 70th spot in the world rankings, placing 12th in the region.

Wildflour Italian, meanwhile, landed in the 47th spot in the Asia-Pacific rankings.
