MANILA - Converge ICT is providing free internet access to passengers at the Davao International Airport, the broadband company said on Thursday. 

Converge said it has given a 1-gigabyte capacity connection to the Davao airport to be used by the 3.9 million passengers transiting through the gateway annually.

The company said travelers at the Davao airport can avail of the free internet connection for two hours after logging on to the Converge network. 

"Converge subscribers with a GoFiber account have an additional 6 hours of free internet access for five devices if they input their GoFiber account number in the login page," the company added. 

Davao International Airport is the third busiest airport in the Philippines after the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and the Cebu-Mactan International Airport.

“We’re happy to report that Davao International Airport is now fiberized by Converge! Consider this as an early Christmas gift, as we expect an influx of travelers these last two months of the year,” said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.  

Earlier this year, Converge also installed free internet service at the NAIA.

The fiber broadband provider earlier disclosed it booked P8.2 billion in net income in the first nine months of the year, up 29 percent from last year.
