MANILA — Twenty people were killed during the onslaught of super typhoon Enteng and the enhanced habagat last week, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its latest situation report released Monday.

This number is still for validation, along with 26 missing. Twenty others were injured.

Of the total 20 reported dead, 11 were from the Calabarzon region, four from Bicol, two each from Central and Eastern Visayas and one from Western Visayas.

Some 741,000 families or 2.8 million people were affected by the storm, with over 7,500 in evacuation centers. Most of the affected were in Bicol and Central Luzon.

The NDRRMC estimated the storm caused over P698.9 million in damage to infrastructure as well as P659 million in production loss or damage to agriculture in five regions—the worst damage for both logged in the Bicol region.

Around 222,000 families or more than half of those requiring assistance received P224.6 million in aid. Most of them were in Bicol, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon.

According to the NDRRMC, 39 cities or municipalities declared a state of calamity after Enteng—37 of them in Bicol.
