MANILA — The death toll from "Enteng," which has intensified into a super typhoon after leaving the Philippine area of responsibility, along with habagat, has reached 16, according to a National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) situational report released Friday.

Around 538,000 families or more than 2 million individuals have been affected across 10 regions, with more than 36,000 persons still in 424 evacuation centers.

The Department of Agriculture said agricultural damage due to Enteng so far reached P659 million, with the rice sector sustaining the highest losses.
"Pinakamalaki dito sa Bicol region, partikular sa probinsya ng Camarines Sur, umabot ito ng P324 million at ang naapektuhan ay ang rice sector,” Agriculture Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Arnel De Mesa said in a televised briefing.
The official said rice supply remained enough, owing to a good harvest season and ample volume of imports.
He said the DA was ready to assist farmers affected by Enteng.
