PNP says no special treatment for Alice Guo inside Crame

<p>No cellphone, no AirPods, no special treatment. </p><p>This is how the Philippine National Police is treating dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo following her arrest in Indonesia and return to the Philippines early Friday.</p><p>Guo, who is accused of having links to an illegal offshore gaming operation in her town, was transferred to Camp Crame at 3:06 a.m. after undergoing medical examination and booking proceedings shortly after her arrival in a private hangar in Pasay City, PNP Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo confirmed.</p><p>Guo will stay in an ordinary detention room with one bed, comfort room, and an electric fan.</p><p>&quot;She will be treated as an ordinary detainee. [No] special treatment. Iniisa-isa &#x27;yung gamit niya. No cellphone, no AirPods. Bawal &#x27;yun sa facility,&quot;Fajardo told reporters.</p><p>&quot;Kung ano po ‘yong proseso na ginawa natin sa ordinaryong citizen, if they are just referring po sa number ng police personnel na atin pong dineploy, well narinig po natin galing sa bibig po ni dating mayor na may death threat po siya.&quot;</p><p>Guo was arrested by Indonesian authorities in Tangerang City in Indonesia last Tuesday, just weeks after she left the Philippines without going through immigration checks.</p><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dH_X52VJRUg?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/9/4/timeline-alice-guo-s-secret-escape-from-ph-and-arrest-in-indonesia-1118" id="isPasted">TIMELINE: Alice Guo&#x27;s secret escape from PH and arrest in Indonesia</a></div><p>She returned via chartered flight to Manila early Friday and brought to the PNP&#x27;s custodial facility in Camp Crame at exactly 3:06 a.m.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/9/5/alice-guo-back-in-ph-after-indonesia-arrest-1513" id="isPasted">Alice Guo back in PH after arrest in Indonesia</a></div><p>Guo is also not allowed to use her phone and any gadget inside the custodial facility as it will be turned over to her relatives.</p><p>“Tinanong po siya no’ng doctors natin, kung meron ba siyang nararamdaman at kung okay ba ang pakiramdam niya. Ang kanyang [blood pressure] po at oxygen level ay nasa normal na leve po”, Fajardo responded when asked about the health condition of Guo.</p><p>Before her arrival, Guo was read her arrest warrant and Miranda rights before being handcuffed and brought to a holding area for processing where she underwent physical and medical examination.</p><p>Her mugshot was also taken, the PNP spokesperson said.</p><p>Fajardo said she expects Guo to post bail for the graft and corruption charges filed against her before a Capas, Tarlac court.</p><p>The dismissed mayor is also facing human trafficking, tax evasion, and money laundering cases, all related to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) in Tarlac.</p><p>Sen. Risa Hontiveros earlier said they received word that Guo will be surrendered to the Senate on Friday, but Fajardo said that until Guo’s camp has not filed for bail for her graft and corruption cases filed by the DILG, her custody shall remain in Camp Crame.</p><p>The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission earlier said Guo fled to Singapore and then Indonesia after allegedly receiving death threats from the Chinese mafia.</p><p>PAOCC executive director Usec. Gilbert Cruz said Southeast Asia was ideal for Guo&#x27;s escape since she did not need a visa to go there.</p><p>&quot;Hindi name sila wanted dun at blue notice lang ang ginagamit.
