MANILA — Dismissed Mayor Alice Guo, her "sister" Shiela, and other respondents in the 87 counts of money laundering case may face imprisonment of 609 to 1,218 years.

This is according to the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), since one count is equivalent to seven to 14 years of jail time.

Senators have urged Shiela, who once again attended the Senate Subcommittee on Justice and Human Rights hearing, to tell the truth.

Shiela, however, stuck to her story of how they left the country.

According to her, she, Alice, and Alice’s brother Wesley, rode a van from their farm in Bamban, Tarlac to an unknown pier.

They allegedly drove through the Balintawak tollgate and passed the Skyway.

“So pa-south. So papunta Batangas, Southern Luzon,” Senator Risa Hontiveros, chair of the Subcommittee deduced.

From the pier, the group allegedly rode vessels until they reached Sabah, Malaysia.

Hontiveros presented information, however, that the group’s first stop in Malaysia was not Sabah but Kuala Lumpur.

“May tatak passport mo, you entered Sabah. Ang problema, di nagma-match ang stamp sa totoong dapat na stamp kung Sabah talaga ang baba niyo. According to these stamps, July 18, or ang basa ng iba, July 19 kayo pumasok ng Malaysia pero via Kuala Lumpur,” Hontiveros said. “Samakatuwid nauna ka dapat sa Kuala Lumpur kaysa sa Sabah.”

Hontiveros also received information which supposedly said that Shiela and the others went to Bali, Indonesia first.

“Walang legal entry sa Sabah. Pati stamp fake daw kinompara sa totoong stamp na dapat pinatatak sa Sabah. Pero ang confirmed nila, credible information ng Committee, dumating kayo sa KL noong July 18,” Hontiveros said. “Naalala mo dumaan kayo sa airport sa Bali papuntang Kuala Lumpur International Airport?”

“Wala po,” Shiela said.

After a few days in Malaysia, Shiela said they flew to Singapore where they met Alice’s dad, Jian Zhong Guo, and his girlfriend Lin Wen Yi who is the aunt of Shiela.

Jian and Wen Yi allegedly did not say where they were going when they said their goodbyes.

At one point, senators got frustrated at Shiela.

“Klarong-klaro, Shiela. Klarong-klaro na may tinatago ka,” Sen. Joel Villanueva said. “Gusto lang namin ipaalala sa’yo yung 87 counts. Isang kaso mo pa lang yun. Napakadami pa na susunod. Gusto ka naming tulungan kung magsasabi ka ng totoo.”

“Di mo kami puwedeng bolahin na sasabihin mo wala kang alam lahat,” he added.
