MANILA -- POGO representative Cassandra Li Ong confirmed that Whirlwind executive Duanren Wu was previously a Chinese police officer.

Ong disclosed this information to lawmakers during a hearing of the House Committees on Dangerous Drugs, Public Order and Safety, Human Rights, and Public Accounts—collectively known as the House Quad Committee—on Wednesday.

Surigao del Norte 2nd District Representative Robert Ace Barbers, chair of the Committee on Dangerous Drugs, also informed Ong that her former boss has several negative records in China.

In fact, madami siyang record. Alam mo ba na may mga record siya, sa pagiging pulis… maraming negative na record siya doon sa China,” he said.

However, Ong said she was not aware of her former boss’s record.

“Sige, sasabihin ko sa iyo at the appropriate time,” Barbers added.

Barbers also emphasized the importance of the public knowing where the money invested in the business, where Ong was involved, originated.

Meanwhile, Ong’s blood pressure dropped to 80/40, prompting an urgent trip to the hospital for further medical tests, as recommended by House physician Dr. Jose Luis Bautista.
