MANILA — The House of Representatives on Tuesday elected new chairpersons in two committees.

During the plenary session, San Jose del Monte City Representative Florida Robes was elected chairperson of the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development. She replaced former Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez, who was appointed by the President to lead the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). 

Joining Robes in the committee as senior vice chairperson is Nueva Ecija 3rd District Representative Rosanna Ria Vergara.

Manila City 3rd District Representative Joel Chua, meanwhile, was elected chairperson of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, in lieu of Robes. 

Representatives Johnny Pimentel, Romeo Acop, Edvic Yap, Rodante Marcoleta, Crispin Diego Remulla, and Roberto Uy Jr. were also elected vice chairperson of the panel.

No one objected to their election.
