Vessel carrying alleged smuggled fuel spotted at Manila Bay

The vessel was carrying an undetermined quantity of alleged smuggled diesel fuel. PCG Facebook MANILA — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Friday said it apprehended a vessel allegedly involved in fuel pilferage at the Manila Bay.

The vessel MV Palawan was spotted on Thursday night by BRP Boracay, which was on its way to Bataan to augment operations related to a sunken tanker.

MV Palawan was carrying an undetermined quantity of alleged smuggled diesel fuel.

Initial investigation revealed that the vessel, with seven crew members, was on its way to Navotas. The ship crew said they took the fuel cargo from a tugboat.

MV Palawan was towed to the Port Area in Manila for further investigation.
