MANILA — The House of Representatives on Wednesday reported that Cassandra Li Ong has been discharged from the hospital and is now well enough to attend the quad committee's probe into POGOs.

Ong was hospitalized last week due to low blood sugar and blood pressure following her appearance at the House Quad Committee hearing.

"Our in-house medical personnel can be fully prepared to handle any other medical condition she might have as she continues to appear in the QuadCom hearings," the House's medical director Dr. Louie Bautista said.

Ong was placed under the custody of the House of Representatives after her deportation from Indonesia, where she was arrested along with dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo's "sister" Shiela.

Ong's lawyer earlier said she would rather go to jail than attend any more Congressional hearings on illegal POGOs.

She was a representative of Lucky South 99, a formerly licensed POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga that was raided by authorities over alleged illegal activities, including torture. She had denied being involved in its illegal POGO operations.
