MANILA (UPDATED) — The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) on Monday said dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and her brother Wesley have parted ways as authorities intensified their search to locate the two.

PAOCC said Alice may still be in Indonesia while Wesley had attempted to enter Hong Kong, based on their monitoring.

“Nakatanggap kami ng info na nag-Hong Kong o nag-attempt mag Hong Kong nung nakaraang Monday. Inaalam namin kung natuloy," PAOCC spokesman Winston Casio said.

The Bureau of Immigration said on Monday that the dismissed mayor has not made any attempt to cross Indonesian borders.

According to Bureau of Immigration spokesperson Dana Sandoval, Guo has not attempted to leave Indonesia since entering the country on August 18.

"Naka-monitor po tayo and kausap natin ‘yong ating counterparts as well as intelligence groups sa Indonesia para matunton po and mapantayan itong galaw ng dating mayor Alice Guo para ‘pag naibalik siya ng Indonesian authorities ay haharapan niya ang patong-patong na kaso laban sa kanya," she added.

(We are monitoring the suituation and we are in touch with our counterparts and with intelligence groups in Indonesia to find her and once Indonesian authorities bring her here, she will face a raft of cases)

Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, a vocal critic of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators like the one that authorities raided in Bamban, said on Monday that authorities across Southeast Asia are also on the lookout for the fugitive former town mayor.

"Kanina yung mga ASEAN ambassadors nakausap ko at sabi nila naka-alerto na din ang kanilang mga otoridad so mahihirapan siya makagalaw sa ASEAN," Gatchalian said, referring to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

(I talked to the ASEAN ambassador and they said the authorities in their countries are also on alert. Guo will have a hard time moving around ASEAN)

"Tingin ko mahuhuli siya sa Indonesia,  (I think she will be caught in Indonesia), " he told reporters in a chance interview.

'Guo sister', POGO firm official in Congress custody

Guo's sister Shiela and alleged companion Cassandra Li Ong were arrested in Batam, an Indonesian island near Singapore, last week and have since been deported.

Shiela is now detained at the Senate while Ong is under the custody of the House of Representatives.

According to Casio, Alice was probably inside her hotel room in Batam or in another private location when her 2 companions were arrested.

The PAOCC said the dismissed mayor may be headed to the "Golden Triangle," referring to the crime-infested areas in Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos controlled by syndicates and triads. —With reports from Lady Vicencio, ABS-CBN News
