Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><span id="isPasted" style="white-space:pre-wrap">Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo in a Senate hearing in Pasay City on May 22, 2024. <em>Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA -- The Commission on Elections on Thursday said its Law Department recommended the filing of a material misrepresentation complaint against suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo. </p><p>The mayor&#x27;s fingerprints in her voter&#x27;s registration matched with that of Chinese national Guo Hua Ping, Comelec Chairman George Garcia said.</p><div><span id="isPasted" style="caret-color:rgb(65, 65, 65);color:rgb(65, 65, 65)">&quot;Iisang tao lang ang may-ari ng fingerprints,&quot; he said. </span></div><div><span id="isPasted"><span id="isPasted" style="caret-color:rgb(65, 65, 65);color:rgb(65, 65, 65)">&quot;Yan ay base sa findings ng ating mga ekperto at ng ating mga investigating panel.&quot;</span></span></div><p>The en banc will decide on the recommendation next week, Garcia added. </p><p>Guo has maintained that she is a Filipino, following <span>Senate hearings on her alleged involvement in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO).</span></p><p>The Senate issued a warrant of arrest against Guo after she failed to attend 2 hearings.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/7/29/osg-files-quo-warranto-petition-questioning-alice-guo-s-eligibility-to-be-bamban-mayor-945">OSG files quo warranto petition questioning Alice Guo&#x27;s eligibility to be Bamban mayor</a></div><p>Guo&#x27;s lawyer Stephen David said the Comelec&#x27;s move was &quot;premature.&quot;<br/><br/>&quot;Issue pa kasi yung validity ng birth certificate nya.
