MANILA — Former Sen. Antonio Trillanes claimed Wednesday that the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) had asked the International Police (Interpol) to put Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa and other former and current police officials on "blue notice" amid its probe into the drug war.

“Bale kasabay nitong pagbigay ng dokumento na ito sa Philippine government ng ICC ay meron din silang request sa Interpol na isama ang 5 ito sa blue notice na tinatawag, kung saan maaari silang i-hold sa mga iba’t ibang immigration counters kung saan man silang bansa lalabas,” Trillanes said.

According to the Interpol's website, a "Blue Notice" seeks to "collect additional information about a person’s identity, location or activities in relation to a criminal investigation."

Trillanes last week posted on X a confidential ICC document tagging Dela Rosa, former Philippine National Police officials Oscar Albayalde, Edilberto Leonardo, Eleazar Mata, and former CIDG chief and current Northern Luzon commander Maj. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. as "suspects."

Trillanes brushed aside criticisms that he was raising the ICC issue against Dela Rosa because of his impending re-election bid.

“Alam nyo po, nung finile ko ito noong 2017, PNP chief pa lang siya, hindi pa siya kandidato pagka-senador. Saka yung mga ganyang palusot eh hindi pinapansin iyan ng ICC ano, whether tumakbo siya, manalo siya, hindi siya manalo, they don't care and I don't care," Trillanes said.

Dela Rosa, who implemented former President Rodrigo Duterte's drug war, previously admitted that human rights violations were committed at the height of controversial anti-narcotics campaign.
