MANILA (UPDATED) -- The local government of Pasig City on Sunday announced the suspension of classes in both public and private schools on Monday, July 29, 2024.

"The suspension of classes is to give way to the ongoing clearing operations and to give students and their families more time to recover from the onslaught of Hanging Habagat, intensified by Typhoon Carina the past days," said Pasig City in its social media post.

Five areas in La Union also declared the suspension of classes in all levels to give way to clearing operations following the onslaught of typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon.

These area include:

Aringay (All levels, public and private)

Bacnotan (All levels, public and private)

Balaoan (All levels, public and private)

Bauang (All levels, public and private)

Luna (All levels, public and private)
