MANILA — Following the marching order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ban Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) explained that Internet Gaming Licensees (IGLs) will also be banned.

This is because POGOs and IGLs are the same, with IGL being the new name of POGOs. The change was done in 2023.

“IGL is the name that replaced POGO. Both cater to offshore markets, in the case of those operating in the Philippines, they serve markets in Mainland China, parts of the US and Europe,” PAGCOR Assistant Vice President Catalino Alano Jr. told ABS-CBN News.

IGLs are different from E-Games or Electronic Gaming which includes E-Bingo, Sports Betting, Specialty Games, online casinos, and the Philippine Inland Gaming Operators (PIGO), all of which cater to the domestic market.
