Mabini was recognized and sought after for his understanding of government and law. Impressed by his knowledge of law, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo assigned Mabini as the prime minister of the “Revolutionary Government” in 1898, and was instrumental in drafting the first Philippine Constitution.
In recognition of his contribution, the Mabini Shrine was established and inaugurated on July 23, 1956.
