MANILA -- Tropical storm Carina has slowed down while moving over the Philippine Sea, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

Carina was last spotted at 4 p.m. 365 kilometers East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora, according to PAGASA's 5 p.m. update.

It maintained maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center with gustiness of up to 115 km/h.

Carina is expected to bring 100-200 mm of water on Sunday and Monday in the eastern portion of Cagayan and Babuyan Islands and 50-100 mm of water in the rest of mainland Cagayan and the northeastern portion of Isabela.

PAGASA warned that flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to such hazards.

The enhanced Southwest Monsoon, on the other hand, will bring moderate to intense rainfall over various localities in the western portion of Luzon on Monday through Tuesday.

PAGASA said the hoisting of Wind Signal No. 1over Extreme Northern Luzon and northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan due to Carina is possible by Sunday night or Monday.

Carina is forecast to move generally north northwestward to northward from Sunday until Tuesday). It is expected to stay far from the Philippine landmass and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday night.
