MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.  on Sunday rehearsed his third State of the Nation  Address speech in Malacañang, about 24 hours before delivering his annual report to Congress. 

Marcos stood behind a podium as he delivered his speech within the halls of the Palace, photos from the Presidential Communication Office showed.

Marcos signs 2 measures into law ahead of SONA  

The PCO did not mention what the highlights of the speech would be, but noted that the President is expected to don a barong crafted by various Filipino artisans.

“PBBM's SONA barong is a collaborative work of artisans from Lucban, Quezon, Taal, Batangas and Aklan,” the PCO told reporters in a statement. 

Marcos Jr earlier said he hopes to have a short speech, and have Cabinet members expound on the details of the achievements and projects he would highlight in a separate forum.

Under the law, the Philippine President needs to report the state of the nation before lawmakers and the public every fourth Monday of July.
