MANILA — Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian on Wednesday said embattled Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was not homeschooled by "Teacher Rubilyn" as she earlier claimed and instead studied at a Quezon City school from 2000 to 2003.

School records obtained by Gatchalian showed that "Guo Hua Ping," the Chinese woman believed to be Guo, had attended Grace Christian High School over two decades ago.

"Nag-aral siya sa pareho kong school. For grades 1, 2 and 3 from year 2000 to 2003. Hindi siya home schooled ni Rubilyn, nag-aral po talaga siya. Sa pagkakatanda ko sa school namin, walang farm po doon, puro building," Gatchalian said.

(She studied in the same school I went to, in Grace Christian High School, for grades 1, 2 and 3. Year 2000 to 2003. She was not homeschooled by Rubilyn. She really studied.)

Gatchalian alleged that a birth certificate from China was included in Guo’s enrollment documents. He said the certificate indicated that Guo’s mother is Wen Yi Lin, while her father is Jian Zhong Guo.

Guo has repeatedly said that her real mother is Filipino Amelia Leal.

The mayor previously said she never went to a formal school and was only homeschooled by "Teacher Rubilyn" in their farm. 

Guo was not present in the hearing due to health issues, a reason rejected by senators that moved to cite her in contempt.
