MANILA — A “one stop app” for overseas Filipino workers (OFW) designed to provide access to information and emergency assistance will be launched in July.

OFW party-list Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino said the OFW App will provide OFWs access to welfare assistance, various benefits, and access to emergency contact that connects directly to Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration's (OWWA) operation center, providing immediate support to OFWs in distress.

DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio, and DICT Undersecretary David Almirol, Jr. signed the memorandum of understanding on the OFW App.

The OFW App, designed as an assistance and information outlet mobile application, will provide access to the user’s benefits in different government agencies and is expected to provide immediate assistance to those in distress and provide a venue for complaints and feedback.
