MANILA — There are almost five million Filipino voters who have been deactivated from the official registration records, and cannot vote in next year's elections.
Data provided to the media by Commission on Elections Chairman George Erwin Garcia showed that as of April 15, 2024, the total number of deactivated voters is now at 4,903,415.

There are also 1,003 voters whose records were failed to be validated.

Three thousand six hundred sixty-three (3,663) have been "Excluded per Court Order"; three lost their Filipino citizenship; one coming from Region XII, "Sentenced by Final Judgment of Having Committed Any Crime Involving Disloyalty to the Duly Constituted Govt't, or Any Crime Against National Security"; and another one also from Region XII who was "Sentenced by Final Judgment to Suffer Imprisonment for Not Less Than One Year."

From this volume of disenfranchised electorate, Region IV-A or Calabarzon topped the list of regions whose voters failed to vote twice, at 733,903, followed by the National Capital Region with 618,121 and Region III or Central Luzon, with 503,297.
