MANILA — House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Representative Martin Romualdez is eyeing reelection in the May 2025 midterm polls.

Asked whether he will run for a Senate seat, Romualdez told the media on Wednesday that he plans to continue his work in his district.

“Siguro, mananatili muna ako sa 1st District ng Leyte and I'll just do my work, kasi marami pang kailangan tapusin sa district,” the House Speaker said. 

Romualdez, meanwhile, did not give a definite answer when asked whether he will seek the Presidency in 2028. 

“Matagal pa ‘yun,” he said.
