<p>MANILA — The Sandiganbayan has found former Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro Mayor Voltaire Anthony Villarosa guilty of violating the GSIS law over the failure of the municipal government during his tenure to remit <span id="isPasted" style="color:rgb(65, 65, 65);letter-spacing:normal;orphans:2;text-align:left;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;display:inline !important;float:none">more than P4 million in</span> contributions and loan repayments of its employees. </p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/video/business/01/03/24/gsis-eyes-no-downpayment-housing-for-govt-employees">• GSIS eyes new ‘game changer’ housing program for government employees</a></div><p>In the 46-page ruling of the Sandiganbayan’s Sixth Division dated June 10, Villarosa was sentenced to two to four years in prison.</p><p>He was also fined P10,000 and disqualified from holding public office due to the conviction.</p><p>&quot;Villarosa... willfully, unlawfully and criminally fail, refuse, withhold and delay the turnover or remittance of the GSIS premiums and contributions in the aggregate amount of P4,808,283.63 covering the period September 20, 2015 to May 20, 2016.
