MANILA — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Monday encouraged qualified non-plantilla workers in the government to avail of the Career Service Eligibility Preference Rating.

Under the scheme, a maximum of 10 points will be added to a failed rating in civil service exams in order to help them pass.

Among those qualified are job order, contract of service, casual, contractual, coterminous, and category 3 or 4 workers in the government, who have rendered service for at least 10 years on the date of filing application for the grant of CSE-PR.

He or she must also have at least a “very satisfactory” performance rating or its equivalent in the latest/available two rating periods preceding the date of filing.

The CSE-PR grant may be only availed once.

“Kailangan pa rin mag-take ng exam, but we will give you plus points to give you the chance to become eligible. Ngayon, I’d also like to clarify that ‘yung eligibility, it’s only one of 4 qualifications na tinitingnan natin for every government position. Hindi dahil eligible ka na, eh makakapasok ka na. Kasi ang tinitingnan din po ng HR is yung education, your experience, and your trainings, plus eligibility,” CSC chairperson Karlo Nograles said.

As of last year, career vacancies in the government is at 200,889.
