The MMDA conducted another clearing operations in the area to ease traffic as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) continues its retrofitting of the EDSA-Kamuning flyover in Quezon City.

“Ang mabuhay lane natin - it was meant to be alternate route para sa continuous mobility. So kung magkakaron tayo ng sudden stops or kung maghihintay, siyempre magkakaron tayo ng pagkaantala sa traffic,” MMDA SOG-SF officer-in-charge Gabriel Go said.

Before noon of Tuesday, the MMDA clearing team went to inner roads of Bgy. Bagong Lipunan near Camp Crame and cleared illegally parked vehicles, most of them private vehicles on 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

MMDA said the agency has issued 74 citation tickets for illegal parking violations while 34 vehicles were towed and brought to their impounding area in Bgy. Tumana, Marikina City.

Go told ABS-CBN News the penalty for attended illegally parked vehicle costs P1,000, while it costs P2,000 for unattended vehicle plus towing fee that ranges from P3,500 to P6,500 depending on the types of towed vehicle and kilometers.
