The DOJ however stressed that Presiding Judge Dante Baguio found probable cause to issue the warrants last March 14, 2024 after a judicious examination and perusal of information.

In the court order, Baguio said there was already a finding of probable cause against Quiboloy but his lawyers filed motion to defer or suspend the issuance of a warrant because of a pending motion for reconsideration before the DOJ.

“Now that more than reasonable time has lapsed, the court has not received any resolution on the motion for reconsideration of the accused neither a copy of the same was furnished to the court by the accused’s counsel nor a manifestation was duly filed at the very least,” Baguio said in the order dated April 1, 2024.
