MANILA — Police on Tuesday said they are looking into personal grudge and money as possible angles in the killing of mother and daughter in Tayabas City, Quezon.

Police discovered the bodies of Lorry Litada, 54, and her Japanese daughter, Mai Motegi, 26, buried near a house in a subdivision in Tayabas, weeks after their disappearance last Feb. 21.

They arrived in the Philippines from Japan on Feb. 20 and stayed at the house of Litada's sister, who is now seen as one of the suspects in their killings.

The two had P5 million in cash, which was supposed to be paid for a property in Quezon. The money has now been reported missing.

PCol. Ledon Monte, director of the Quezon provincial police, told TeleRadyo Serbisyo that Litada and her sister had disagreements.

Police discovered over half a million pesos in cash inside a box when they searched one of the rooms in the house in a recent operation, Monte said.

Monte also disclosed that the Japanese embassy had sought the whereabouts of the mother and daughter upon learning of their disappearance.

Monte said they have already identified all suspects in the killings and that their investigations are still underway.
