During her speech, Duterte urged the business sector to collaborate with the government to develop the students’ skills and enhance their employability after finishing senior high school as the DepEd revises the curriculum for Grades 11 and 12.
Inputs from the business sector are necessary for job-skills matching, she said.
“I’d like to invite the club and all its chapters to submit your comments on the draft curriculum for the Grades 11 and 12,” Duterte said.

“So mahalaga iyon na nasasabi ng market ng business community kung ano ang gusto nilang makitang skills doon sa ating mga graduates," she said.
"At, of course, kapag andoon na tayo na-implement na natin iyon ay i-hire nila ang ating graduates,” she told reporters after the event.
Duterte also identified “pivotal areas” where collaboration between the government, the business sector and the other stakeholders is encouraged.
“Let us focus on empowering our youth by equipping them with the essential 21st century skills demanded by the dynamic work and business landscape,” she said.
“Critical and creative thinking, problem solving abilities, innovation and media literacy are the bedrock of these skills,” she added.
Instilling soft skills such as “leadership, empathy and respect for cultural diversity, excellence, accountability, responsibility” during learners’ early education is also crucial, Duterte said.
