Ahna F. Mejia, the Director for Media Affairs and Communications of Gatchalian's office, said the senator was not involved in the incident at the EDSA busway in Guadalupe and was not inside the vehicle when it occurred.

Mejia added that the senator does not own the Cadillac Escalade that was caught on video while running away from enforcers.

Mejia said the vehicle is registered under Orient Pacific Corporation and that the senator does not own the fake protocol plate of the SUV.

The LTO on Thursday said it was investigating who fabricated the number “7” protocol plate on the EDSA Busway violator. The SUV’s driver apologized for the incident on Wednesday and said he did not know the identities of the guests who were on board the vehicle. He added that he had no knowledge of who installed the number 7 plate.
