MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday said she would not attend the Nov. 20 House hearing on her office’s use of confidential funds despite personally receiving the invitation. 

The Vice President said she had attended the first hearing, where she was allegedly made to sit instead of answering questions. 

“Hindi man nila ako tinanong, kung nakikita ninyo nakaupo lang ako doon. Nasasayang yung oras ko kaya nagpaalam ako kung pwede akong umalis, pinayagan naman nila ako,” Duterte told reporters. 

“Hindi ako a-attend sa hearings na susunod kasi nandoon na ako, pumunta na ako, ta’s wala naman sila ginawa sa akin, pinaupo lang nila ako doon.” 

Duterte said she would send the House a letter and submit an affidavit about the use of confidential funds. 

“Under oath din naman ‘yang affidavit na ‘yan,” she said. 

Duterte on Wednesday received the invitation to the hearing when she made a surprise attendance at the House quad committee’s separate inquiry into the drug war of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
