Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News/FileMANILA — No member of the Philippine National Police (PNP) was involved in the escape of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo back in July.

This was the statement of the PNP during the Senate deliberation on the budget of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and attached agencies such as the PNP on Wednesday night.

Senate Majority Floor Leader Francis Tolentino sponsored the budget and said the PNP conducted an internal investigation on Guo’s escape.

Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Senior Vice President Raul Villanueva previously said there was raw information that a former PNP Chief might have helped Guo. He later on apologized for the unverified information.

Asked if any politician could have helped Guo, Tolentino said, “Base rin po sa  imbestigasyon kay Alice Guo, sa custodial investigation wala rin pong natukoy na involved na politiko.”

Meanwhile, the PNP assured that none of its personnel moonlight as a bodyguard of bosses of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
