"Maging puso sana ng ating pagdiriwang ng Undas ang kahalagahan ng mga santo sa ating paniniwala at ang pag-alaala natin sa mga pumanaw nating mahal sa buhay," she wrote in a statement.

"Sa ating mga pagtitipon ay ipagdasal natin ang maluwalhating kapayapaan ng kaluluwa ng mga pumanaw kasabay ng ating pagpapasalamat sa kanilang pagmamahal, gabay, at mga aral na ipinamana nila sa atin," Duterte added.

Duterte also encouraged Filipinos to pray to the saints to help alleviate their worries and burdens.

"Idulog natin sa kanila ang ating mga pangamba at manalangin tayo na maibsan sana ang bigat ng ating mga pasanin sa buhay," she stated.

Moreover, the vice president urged the people to pray for peace and the nation's resilience as it faces several challenges.

"Sama-sama rin nating ipagdasal ang kapayapaan at katatagan ng ating bansa sa harap ng mga hamon ng kasamaan, katiwalian, at mga pansariling interes para sa yaman at kapangyarihan ng ilan," Duterte emphasized.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also called on Filipinos to view Undas this year as a chance to become "better persons, better Filipinos, and better stewards" of the country.

The chief of state is encouraging the people to spend time with their families and visit the dearly departed to offer heartfelt prayers and express gratitude over their legacies.

“May this remind us of the values that shall endure through us as a nation: faith, resilience, and hope,” Marcos added.

Meanwhile, he has no comment on Duterte's earlier threat of desecrating late Ferdinand Marcos Sr.'s remains and dump them in the West Philippine Sea — "if they don't stop" the supposed political attacks.
