The Manila local government on Friday said they continue to monitor the situation in the city’s major cemeteries this All Saints Day.

The situation remains manageable with the number of people going to the cemeteries not as big as expected due to the long weekend, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said in a televised briefing.

“As of 11:30 am kanina po nakapagtala na tayo ng 572,000 na pumasok today sa North Cemetery at sa South Cemetery nasa 37,000 so in total sa Manila North Cemetery from October 30 to kaninang 11:30, nasa 705,530 ang naitatala nating dumalaw sa kanilang mahal sa buhay, at sa South naman po na sa 58,097 na ang naitatala natin,” Lacuna said.

Lacuna reminded the public that pets, firearms, or bladed or pointed weapons, as well as vendors, are not allowed inside to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness in the place.
