MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on Friday urged Filipinos to "remember those who paved the way for our present prosperity" as the country commemorates All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

In his Undas message, Marcos said the occasion is an "opportune moment to fortify our bond for the betterment of our spiritual life, not only with the divine but also with one another."

"Let us spend this time with our families and loved ones to visit their resting places, offer our heartfelt prayers for them, and express deep gratitude for their impact on our lives," the President said.

He said this day of memorial should "rekindle us to be better persons, better Filipinos, and better stewards of our beloved nation."

Thousands of Filipinos went back to their hometowns this week to celebrate the twin holidays with their families and vote for the village and youth elections.
