“That will be the first one to be closed. And correction, it’s not ours. It was our property, but it’s not ours today. That will be the first one to close, just to show a proof of sincerity that I will start with my province and make sure that it is closed,” Remulla said in a media interview in Pasay City.

Remulla had repeatedly denied allegation that he and his family had been protectors of POGOs, even offering a P10 million reward to anyone who could prove their ties in the operations of the POGO hub in Island Cove. He explained that the property was sold by their family in 2018.

“What we have now is a mishmash of one city and one municipality having different systems. So we want to create an integrated approach into reporting incidences all over the country. And we’re going to start with the terms of reference tomorrow and we hope to bid it out by June next year when the new term starts,” he said.

“A lot of you will question about my brother and I being in the Cabinet at the same time. But I think it is not a question of whether we are brothers, but whether we are competent enough for the job. And I think we bring to the table different skill sets and I think local government is my forte,” he said.
