MANILA — Taguig 2nd District Rep. Pammy Zamora has filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) on Oct. 8, the last day of filing.

Her sister, San Juan Rep. Bel Zamora is also vying for reelection.

Pammy and Bel are sisters of reelectionist San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora.

"Ako ang mag-isang Zamora na tatakbo sa Taguig. My brother naman is in San Juan, my sister naman, running again for reelection sa Kongreso. Those are both separate branches of government. LGU iyong brother ko, and iyong kapatid ko, tulad ko, representante. And nasa tao naman iyan. Pero ako, lilinawin ko, hindi ako parte ng kahit anong dynasty kahit pa kamag-anak ko sila at mahal ko sila," Pammy told the media.

Bel, meanwhile, said, "We are not forcing them, but I think that what we have done, what I have done in the past 2 years... will show that our team is the one that should be elected by people, whether we are siblings or not."

San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora is confident that they will win the 2025 polls.

"For 2025, we are very optimistic. Nakita na po ng San Juan ano ang kahalagahan na magkakampi nga at nagtutulungang ang mayor, congresswoman, vice mayor at mga konsehal. At kaming dalawang magkapatid, nagmamahalan kami. Tandaan niyo bilang magkapatid dapat nagmamahalan kayo. Kasi minsan po may mga kapatid, sila sila nag-aaway, sila sila nagbabangayan. We are a very good example of siblings who love each other," he said.

Bel will face off with Jana Ejercito - cousin of Senators JV Ejercito and Jinggoy Estrada - who filed her COC an hour before the deadline.

"We want it to be a surprise... We were contemplating... Because maybe they might switch in the end, because it's the last term of Mayor Francis Zamora. And maybe they might want to reign in San Juan," Ejercito told reporters, and added that they waited for the move of the Zamoras before making a final decision.

LAST DAY OF COC FILING

Reelectionists from Manila's 3rd and 6th District Congressmen Joel Chua and Benny Abante, respectively, also filed their COCs.

They are joined by reelectionist Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, who was asked about Isko Moreno, a former ally whom she will go against in the mayoral race.

"Ang mabigat lang po kasi magkasama po kami. Ang turingan po namin ay pamilya kaya mabigat po para sa aming dalawa iyon," Lacuna shared.

The official said she still feels "betrayed".

"Oo naman po. Lahat naman po kami iyong po ang pakiramdam na kami po ay biglang natalikuran... He's still my little brother and I wish him well," Lacuna said.

Meantime, Quezon City 6th District Rep. Marivic Co-Pilar is seeking reelection, while Queenie Gonzales wants a comeback to the lower house as Mandaluyong lone district representative.

She is the wife of incumbent Congressman Neptali Gonzales II, and will be up against Richard Abalos, who claimed that he is not related to the Abalos political clan.

Lawyer Ian Sia eyes Pasig's lone district, running under the slate of mayoral bet Sarah Discaya, while former lawmaker Bong Suntay wants to represent QC's 4th district.

The Comelec-NCR will now compile the data from the COCs, which will eventually be used to generate the official list of candidates.

"We have to scan that and submit it to the main office. Then sila na iyong magpo-post ng mga reducted COC. So that's the process. We will be coming up with the list of candidates that filed in our respective jurisdictions... Iyong reduction we are supposed to submit that on Oct. 11 to the main office," said Atty. Jovencio Balanquit, Assistant Regional Election Director of the Office of the Regional Election Director-National Capital Region (ORED-NCR).

A total of 93 aspirants have filed their COCs in Comelec-NCR, running to become representatives of 33 congressional districts in the region.
