Luzon as super typhoon passes close to Batanes</a></div><p>The NDRRMC bulletin released Thursday morning did not specify the number of deaths attributed to each storm, but earlier reports indicated that <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/28/116-reported-dead-due-to-kristine-ndrrmc-928">most fatalities were due to Kristine</a>, the deadliest and most destructive storm so far to have hit the Philippines this year.</p><div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAEyze-tm4MR6kEa&amp;cid=ABPbw9Cnik8yoYOz&amp;activation=click&amp;vip_mode=playing&amp;vip_position=bottom-right"></script></div><p>Hundreds of individuals remained in evacuation shelters, the disaster mitigation agency said, noting that 1.892 million families had been affected by the storms&#x27; impact across 81 provinces.</p><p>The power of Super Typhoon Leon was so strong that the state weather service warned that rain showers and thunderstorms could lash much of the country on Thursday, which could hamper recovery and rehabilitation efforts related to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. </p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/regions/2024/10/30/undas-exodus-over-100-000-travelers-leave-batangas-port-pitx-704">RELATED: Undas Exodus: Over 100,000 travelers leave Batangas port, PITX</a></div><p>The NDRRMC reported in its latest bulletin that more than 150,000 houses and 764 infrastructure facilities were damaged, while hundreds of roads and bridges were affected, with combined losses reaching P6.4 billion. </p><p>Over 63,000 hectares of crops have also been battered by the cyclones, with total agricultural damage estimated at P2.9 billion.</p><p>In Batangas, one of the hardest-hit provinces by storm Kristine where at least 59 were killed mostly by rain-induced landslides, disaster officer Stephanie Labrador told ANC on Thursday that although floods had subsided, around 3,000 families or 11,000 individuals remained in 70 evacuation shelters.</p><p>Labrador said that scores of residents in the towns of Agoncillo, San Luis, and Alitagtag, as well as in Lipa City were preemptively evacuated due to the anticipated impact of Super Typhoon Leon.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/regions/2024/10/30/super-typhoon-leon-may-affect-2-5-to-5-million-individuals-ocd-1809">Super typhoon Leon may affect 2.5 to 5 million individuals: OCD</a></div>
