MANILA — Around one million people are expected to visit Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Parañaque City for All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

According to Assistant Park Manager Rizzalynn Acosta, this year's figure is higher than last year's recorded number.

Mas maluwag na kasi tayo since pandemic so napapansin natin na tumataas ‘yung bilang ng dumadalaw,” Acosta said.

The park will remain open 24 hours daily until November 2 to accommodate visitors paying their respects to their departed loved ones.

On November 3, it will operate from 12 midnight to 6 p.m. Then it will resume regular operating hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. come November 4.

Since October 27, over 80,000 visitors have been recorded by the management.

“Maluwag pa sa ngayon at ini-expect natin na sisikip ‘to bandang mamayang hapon,” Acosta said.

“Nakaprepara naman na sa loob ng park para sa mga traffic route at kung may diversion, if ever magkaroon ng clogging or pagpupuno sa loob,” she added.

To manage vehicle flow and reduce congestion, the Parañaque City Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO) has implemented a one-side parking scheme.

Notable personalities are laid to rest here, including members of the Aquino family, Kapamilya actors Rico Yan and AJ Perez, and slain broadcast journalist Percy Lapid.

Traffic enforcers, medical units, and the Philippine National Police, have been deployed to ensure safety and security during #Undas 2024.
