MANILA — Some local government units (LGUs) have decided to suspend classes on Tuesday, October 29, due to severe tropical storm Leon.

Classes at all levels in the following areas have been suspended:

Albay (face-to-face classes)

Aurora (face-to-face classes)

-Calaca (face-to-face classes until October 31)

-Lemery (until Oct. 31)

-Nasugbu (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-San Luis (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

Burgos, Isabela

Camarines Norte (until lifted)

Camarines Sur (until lifted)

Laguna

Bay (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-Biñan (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-Cabuyao (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-Los Baños (until Oct. 31)

-Magdalena (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-Paete (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-Pagsanjan (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-San Pedro (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-Santa Cruz (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

-Santa Maria (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

Noveleta, Cavite (face-to-face classes until Oct. 30)

Tobias Fornier, Antique

Classes from elementary to high school, meanwhile, are suspended in the following areas:

Antique

-Libertad (face-to-face classes)

-San Jose (face-to-face classes)

Calamba, Laguna (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

Ilocos Sur

Infanta, Quezon 

Talisay, Batangas (face-to-face classes until Oct. 31)

Tuguegarao, Cagayan 

Virac, Catanduanes

Face-to-face classes from elementary to high school in public schools in Santa Rosa, Laguna are also suspended until Oct. 31.

Classes in public schools in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija are likewise suspended due to power interruption.

As of 11 p.m., PAGASA said Leon has maintained its strength as it moves slowly over the Philippine Sea.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over northern Luzon, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley Region, Bicol Region, and parts of Eastern Visayas.
