MANILA -- Tropical storm Leon has slightly intensified while moving over the Philippine sea, according to the state weather bureau.

PAGASA said that as of 4 p.m., Leon was spotted 1,000 kilometers East of Central Luzon.

It is seen to remain far from the Philippine landmass, may make landfall over eastern Taiwan on Thursday, and exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday.
