SC says docket section open despite work suspension due to Kristine

MANILA — The Supreme Court has suspended work in all courts and offices in Luzon — which includes Judicial Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B and V and the National Capital Judicial Region — Wednesday, except essential offices, because of the inclement weather brought by Tropical Storm Kristine.

A memorandum signed by Deputy Clerk of Court Maria Carina Matammu Cunanan, by authority of Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, was sent to all officials and employees of the Supreme Court.

The high court however said courts and offices “should be accessible to lawyers, court users, and litigants through their respective hotline numbers and official email addresses.” 

Included in the suspension are high-level courts and offices of the Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals and the Sandiganbayan.

A skeleton work force shall continue however at the SC’s Docket-Receiving Section of the Judicial Records Office and CA’s One-Stop Processing Center.

The high court also told judges and clerks of courts to observe protocols on disaster.

“Judges should also monitor the condition of their court premises to determine or conduct any required clean-up operation or repair/rehabilitation work,” the SC said.
