Handout/Senate PRIBMANILA — Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Wednesday labelled the Senate hearing on his alleged abuses as "unfair."

In a chance interview after the hearing, Quiboloy said, “Yung mabibigat na alegasyon nila, walang mga katotohanan. Kailangan patotohanan nila sa korte where I can defend myself and malaman ang katotohanan. Because this Committee is not the Committee to decide whether I am guilty or not. It should be the court of law.”

“Hindi committeeng fair ito," he added.

Quiboloy said this while pointing out that there was no resource person from his camp and other issues were not tackled.

“This one is like trial by publicity. Eh wala kaming resource person. Walang galing sa amin. Galing lahat doon sa kabila,” he said.

Quiboloy said he will answer allegations in court.

HEARING ADJOURNED

After more than five hours, Senator Risa Hontiveros, Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality adjourned the hearing.

The Committee had a total of four hearings on Quiboloy.

Hontiveros revealed that it was not easy proceeding with the investigation.

Now I learnt your camp threatened our witnesses and indirectly binantaan ang sarili kong staff.

“Ito ang malinaw: Quiboloy presided over a malicious and systematic subversion of personal will, autonomy, and dignity to make his victims participants in their own abuse - psychological, sexual, physical, and economic,” Hontiveros further said.

She praised the victims of abuses for their strength and courage and said they will ensure that the country’s laws will make Quiboloy will pay for his alleged crimes.

“Para kay Amanda, kay Arlene, kay Dindo, kay Jocelyn, kay Eduard, Jo ar, Alias Marie sa mga dating witness na si Alias Rene at Alias David, of course to Yuliya and our friends in Ukraine, and siyempre Kay Ate Gingging, pagpugay at pasasalamat sa inyong lahat,” Hontiveros stated.

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) hopes that through the Senate investigation, parties involved in the cases will cooperate with them and that victims will be empowered.

The National Bureau of Investigation, on the other hand, wants to strengthen its anti-human trafficking division.
