MANILA — A cloud cluster over the Pacific Ocean developed into a low press area (LPA) before dawn on Friday, the state weather bureau said.

The LPA was spotted 2,040 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas at 3 a.m., PAGASA said.

It said the weather system was unlikely to enter the Philippine area of responsibility or strengthen into a cyclone in the next 24 hours.

In the meantime, Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, the Bangsamoro, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and Davao del Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms    due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) or band of clouds.

The ITCS will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan, and the rest of Mindanao, PAGASA said.

Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region should expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon    may experience localized thunderstorms, the weather agency added.
