MANILA — Mylah Roque, the wife of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, left the Philippines in early September, the Bureau of Immigration said Tuesday.

Mrs. Roque, who is subject of an October 11 arrest order from the House of Representatives for contempt, left the Philippines on September 3, BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval told state television PTV.

“Her lookout bulletin was issued on September 16, so wala po siya sa bansa sa kasalukuyan (she is currently not in the country)."

In any case, a lookout bulletin order only directs immigration personnel to monitor a subject's movements in and out of the country, and to endorse them for secondary inspection if warranted.

A hold-departure order, which would have prevented Mrs. Roque from leaving, can only be issued by a court.

Apart from the House arrest warrant, Mrs. Roque is not facing any administrative or criminal complaints.

HARRY ROQUE 'STILL IN THE COUNTRY'

Former spokesperson Harry Roque, on the other hand, has no recent departure from the country, Sandoval said, citing BI records.

The Roques have been cited in contempt after they failed to appear before the joint investigations at the House of Representatives on illegal gambling operations and other issues related to the Duterte administration..

Roque's refusal to cooperate with POGO probe adds to suspicion: House leaders

Mrs. Roque, a former trustee of the Pag-IBIG Fund, earlier said that she had been “regularly complying” with the quad committee’s requests, but that “every time I submit a medical document, the good officials always, without fail, ask for something else and something new.”

Mylah Roque only sent quad comm a prescription from her personal doctor — House leader

But Santa Rosa, Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez on Monday said Mrs. Roque had not submitted even a medical certificate to show she is unable to attend hearings. He said she only sent a prescription issued by a personal doctor.

He added he had received information that Mrs. Roque was in an "Asian country", possibly Singapore or Malaysia.
