MANILA -- Former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go recently visited the Central Office of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) to meet with Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo.

Go shared details of the meeting on his Facebook account, hailing the INC's commitment to public service. In particular, he thanked the INC for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic and calamities.

“Sa kanilang pag-uusap, binigyang-diin nina Tatay Digong at Senator Kuya Bong Go ang matibay na ugnayan ng Iglesia Ni Cristo at ng sambayanang Pililipino, lalo na ang dedikasyon ng simbahan sa paglilingkod sa kapwa,” Go said in his caption.

Additionally, he extended his early birthday wishes to Manalo, who will celebrate his birthday on October 31, expressing hopes for his continued health and service to God and the Filipino nation.

The influential religious group  had endorsed Duterte for president and then-senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for vice president in the 2016 elections.

In 2022, the group -- which requires its members to vote as one -- endorsed Marcos for president and Sara Duterte for vice president in the national elections.

Because of the group’s capacity to deliver a bloc vote, Filipino politicians for half a century have approached the INC leaders for their endorsement.

The INC previously endorsed Joseph Estrada, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and the late Benigno Aquino III for the presidency.
