CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The slain former mayor of Kadingilan town, Bukidnon was laid to rest on Saturday, a week since his murder.
Joelito ‘Jukens’ Talaid was interred at the Oro Gardens Cemetery here a week since a still unidentified gunman shot him dead at a fruit market in Upper Carmen on Dec. 22.
His family, friends and supporters are all calling for justice for the former mayor.
“We hope that his supporters and everyone that he has helped will also help us pray for dad’s justice,” said the mayor’s eldest daughter Natasha Talaid.

Nestor Baliguat, his former vice-mayor, said Talaid had been receiving threats.
The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office has already formed a Special Investigation Task Group to closely investigate the case.
They are looking at several angles in the crime, including business and politics.
Aside from being a politician, Talaid is known as a housing developer in Cagayan de Oro.
