127,000 Pinoy factory workers makikinabang sa wage hike sa Taiwan

Mahigit 100,000 Pinoy factory workers ang inaasahang makikinabang sa wage hike ng Taiwan para sa skilled workers.

Mahigit $25,000 new Taiwan dollars o halos P45,000 ang minimum wage ng factory workers sa Taiwan. Simula Enero 1, 2023, makakatikim ng 4.55 porsiyentong wage increase ang lahat ng skilled workers.

Ibig sabihin, halos P2,000 pa ang madadagdag sa sahod kada buwan ng mahigit 127,000 factory workers na Pinoy.

"Ang daming... kailangan ng Taiwan sa mga factory workers nila, alam mo naman Taiwan is full of factories... They are the makers of 'yung chips, number 1 in the world and fortunately, majority of the factory workers are Filipino. They are expanding the number of factories at the same time expanding the number of their factory workers," ani MECO Chairman Silvestre Bello III.

Noong Agosto, nagpatupad din ang Taiwan ng taas-sahod sa mga bagong caregiver at caretaker kaya mula P30,000, mahigit P35,000 na ang minimum wage ng migrant home-based workers.

Magkakaroon din ng malaking demand para sa mga guro, ayon sa MECO.

"Ang minimum wage would be P100,000. Ganoon... kataas ng suweldo ng ating mga teachers doon and to think na ang requirement lang nila is you are a graduate of education and a board passer," ani Bello.

Nakikipag-ugnayan na rin si Bello para ibalita ang job prospects sa Taiwan.
