SAN CLEMENTE, Tarlac - One person was electrocuted after trying to help a man who fell off his motorcycle at the height of the onslaught of Typhoon Rosita Tuesday morning.

According to engineer Genesis Santiago of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the accident happened around 5 a.m., at the height of typhoon Rosita's strong winds and rains.

"Hindi naman po malakas ang ulan, 'yung hangin po ang malakas noong oras na 'yun," said Santiago.

(The rain was not that strong but the winds were fierce at that time.)

The winds toppled an electric post along the provincial road. A motorcycle rider then tried to drive through but fell off his motorcycle after experiencing an electric shock while driving through the fallen cables.

A resident then tried to help the fallen rider but was electrocuted.

"Itong casualty [resident] natin tutulungan sana ang victim kaso nadamay din po siya sa kuryente kaya siya po ang namatay," said Santiago.

(The casualty was going to help the victim but he died from electric shock.)

The motorcycle rider was severely injured and is now in critical condition in a hospital.
